Supporting small businesses has only gotten easier to do. Whether you’re finding your new favorite brand on instagram, pinterest, or ETSY — companies like squarespace and square have made it easy for entrepreneurs to open up online shops for their businesses. Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying here, running a small business is HARD. Being able to access small brands and business and have the ability to support them by purchasing from their shops no matter where they or you are - is easy. There are also companies, like Renagade Craft fair, who are bringing small businesses and creative communities across the country where you can shop in person.

When it comes to gift giving…Sometimes you’re looking for something specific, and sometimes you’re not sure what it is that you’re looking for, but you’ll know when you see it. If you’ve ever come to one of my pop-ups, Renegade Craft Fair, tradeshows, or events — then you’ve likely met myself AND Bobby. He’s the guys that helps me haul everything to and from shows, builds my displays, joins me in the studio when I need to do a late night or weekend work, and makes sure I don’t go completely insane from running my own business. On June 8, after being together for over 7 years — we got hitched. :)

Much like Calhoun & Co., our wedding was a little bit tiki-tropical, a little bit cozy, kind of 70’s-ish, a little bit handmade, and backed by a lotta love. One of the best parts of the planning process, was knowing SO many different creative people to work with on the details for our big day. I think with the combination of living in Brooklyn, going to art school, and owning a small business — I’ve met a lot of people who run their own businesses, have a side hustle, or are just really great at a particular skill/talent/thing! There was no way I couldn’t share some of these great people and businesses with you… SO! Here are some of those details from our big day up in the Catskills.

Also… thanks again for your patience on orders while we were away. It was my first time taking so much consecutive time off ever (let alone since starting Calhoun & Co.!)
